Advanced reading and learning techniques

Hi, everyone,
currently, I'm studying Rod Bremer's The Manual and reading Paul Scheele's PhotoReading, and I've already read Tony Buzan's Mind Map Book and tried his awesome software iMindMap 6. One of the things that most impressed me was the (first and most important) chapter on meditation in Bremer's book. It contains some meditation techniques which David Wilcock also talks about in his lecture Access Your Higher Self. It was also curious to see the effects of photographic memory in two Derren Brown's shows.
I would like to know if anyone is actively using these techniques and could recommend additional resources or advice regarding this topic.
Best wishes,
