I remember seeing this one (not this specific one) Perendev magnetic motor video atleast 5 years ago, so I know its not so new, although some say that it doesn't work, havent had a chance to make one myself so I dont know really.

He has a interesting problem in the end there about electricity discharging for some reason and I think that RS has the answer to that question.
